I see you over there. You are beautiful. People ask you all the time when you are having children. Maybe it is because you can’t. Perhaps it is because you’ve chosen not to. But you are still just as lovely.
Being a mother is one of my greatest joys. But what about the beautiful women around the world that mother without children? Don’t they deserve to be recognized? You see, you are a special kind of mother in your own way.
You’ve never birthed or adopted a child, BUT-
-you love your niece and nephew as if they were your own flesh
-you care for those babies in your church as you whisper love in their ear, cheek to cheek
-you smile instead of growl at those rambunctious children at the grocery store
-you write words of wisdom to that teenager you mentor
-you nurture others that are dear to you in your community
-you passionately pursue that forgotten widow at the nursing home
As Mother’s Day approaches, we want to recognize all that you do. You are valuable. You are loved. You are appreciated.
Thank you for all you do!
Whether you’ve experienced great loss, a barren womb, or simply have chosen another path for your life, we want you to know you are valued and recognized. You mother in so many ways, whether you carry the title or not.
