YES Indeedy! You read that right. This bad-boy was made with Black Beans! When my Mom had me taste these brownies at her house, and I raved about how good they were, she chuckled… “Guess what they’re made with?” When I heard her response, I had the same puzzled look on my face as you do right now!
The only complaint I have: It does have a bit of a strong coffee taste. I will definitely reduce the amount next time I make it. It doesn’t taste “bean-y” at all! It is very gooey, and it melts in your mouth! I love the little addition of peanut butter and whip cream!
My daughter even loves them! Shhh, don’t tell her they have healthy stuff in them!

4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups soft-cooked black beans, drained well (canned is fine)
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
¼ cup (granulated) natural coffee substitute (or instant coffee, for gluten-sensitive)
¼ teaspoon sea salt
4 large eggs
1½ cups light agave nectar

Boasts of a low glycemic index and fewer calories per serving than refined sugar! This is my first interaction with Agave, and I would give it a thumbs up. I don’t know that I will use it all the time, but it is a great, healthier alternative to refined sugar for sure!
