Our husbands desperately need our prayers. Many times we forget to pray for the ones that are the closest to us. Here are some simple, yet profound, ways to pray for your husband each day:
Heavenly Father,
Head (Ephesians 5:23)
As the head of our home, I ask you to protect and watch over my husband today. As He seeks you first, give him the wisdom and discernment to lead our family well.
Mind (Philippians 4:8)
Give my husband pure thoughts. Give him a mind of understanding to be able to understand and live out your Word today. Help him to meditate on the truth of your word. Give him a clear mind, ready to receive your instruction. I pray you protect his mind against discouragement, doubt and fear.
Eyes (1 John 2:15-17)
Please protect my husband’s eyes from sexual sin that will try to distract him today. Give him clear vision to see that your ways are best. Help him to walk in the Spirit so that he won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
Mouth (Psalm 19:14)
Put a guard about my husband’s mouth. May his words be seasoned with salt and full of grace and encouragement. May he give life to others, and not death. May he encourage and not tear down.
Heart (Ezekiel 11:19)
Give my husband a heart of compassion. May he always be thinking of how he can bless others. Fill his heart will your unconditional love, so that He may love others by your supernatural love. If any bitterness has crept in and made his heart like stone, I ask that you would do a miraculous work and soften his heart, even now.
Arms (Ephesians 6:4)
As a father, help him always have arms that are outstretched and not arms that push away. Help him scoop up our children daily, and show his love and affection for them. Give him patience and self control, in order to discipline out of love and not anger. I also pray that you continually show him how to love me well, his wife.
Hands (1 Thessalonians 4:11)
May his hands work hard today at his job. May he do honest work, full of integrity. May he work hard, that he may have more to give and serve you with.
Knees (Ephesians 3:14-19)
I pray that my husband will be a man of prayer. That on his knees is where he may know that his true strength comes from. May he be meek and humble of heart, always ready to serve you.
Legs (1 Corinthians 16:13)
May he stand firm in the faith and his walk with you today. Help him stand firm in his convictions and keep him alert to the enemies attacks to break his foundation in You!
Feet (Isaiah 52:7)
Help my husband’s feet today. Give him opportunities to share You with others. You say that beautiful are the feet that bring the gospel and good news to others. Bless him today as he is obedient to you in fulfilling the great commission.
