This world is getting increasingly uncertain. Our national security threatened, but even more, the sacred places of our heart and mind. We see what is happening around us, the tragedy, violence, anger, hatred, bitterness, hurtful words… and wonder, how much more can we take, Lord?
I know for a fact the enemy loves to come in and camp out among fear. It’s his favorite playground.
When he knows you and I are fearful, he narrows in his grip because our eyes are off of the I AM.
So I am thinking, if you are like me, you need some reminders of who is above all. We know it and believe it, but God tells us to meditate on truth! Worry, anxiety and fear have the power to overtake our thoughts and actions; but, let’s remember the One who is Sovereign and worthy of our complete attention!
I’m not saying that we won’t be afraid. That when we hear about scary things we won’t wonder, what’s next? But let’s not give fear the power. Let’s place ourselves back in God’s arms. He is much bigger and much more powerful than anything. God is love, and love crushes evil under its foot.
Imagine this when fear starts creeping in…
Picture God’s foot (if He had a foot) squishing the fear that creeps up in your mind under his foot like a bug. Squishing it, turning his foot back and forth on its head, leaving it for dead. That’s what God’s Word is to your mind and heart. Don’t let that fear bug grow… let God squish it the moment it creeps in. We give fear power to control us when it grows in our mind and heart.
