Word Prompt: Leave (write for five minutes)…
We are all wounded people. I stare at a girl on the corner street as I feel rushed and wait for the light to turn green. She looks deeply at the sidewalk, her frown plastered and her eyes weary. Something begs me to roll down the window and ask what’s wrong.
She’d think I was a crazy person, ready to abduct her. I’m sure she just wants to be left alone. Yes, I’m sure of it. But what if…
What if we put aside our what-ifs and listened to the Holy Spirit’s promptings in our core? What if we left our squishy church pew and walked down the center isle to grab that women’s hand to pray?
So leave…
Leave your preconceived ideas…
Leave your insecurities…
Leave your what-ifs…
Leave your judgments…
Leave your comfort zone…
Leave your pride…
Leave your dreams…
Leave it all…
at the foot of the cross.
For Jesus knows best and He knows just what each of us need… us wounded people. We need the touch of another wounded person. We all need a tangible Jesus in the face of uncertainty, trial, and pain.
So leave it all behind.
Maybe it might mean leaving your car and approaching that person on the corner street that wears wounded all over her face? Are you willing to leave?
