When I think I’m important, I remember that I am only a speck of sand on a vast and endless beach. As the waves come crashing upon me, bubbling over my head and returning to the ocean deep,
I’m reminded of how small I really am.
As I stand, gazing at that ebony moon lying still against your seamless blue sky, I’m reminded of how small I really am.
When my troubles seem too hard to carry, and I’m crushed by the weight of it all, I’m reminded of how small I really am.
Just like the song, My God Is So Big. He’s so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do. He made the trees, He made the seas, He made the elephants too.
So what makes me think I’m even remotely big enough to hand a day, or even a portion of it myself?
I hear what you are saying, Lord. John 3:30 says it best:
And to think of it this way, I’m so small, yet you lavish your love upon me and desire an intimate relationship with me. Wow. Thank you, Jesus.
