Mercy scoops you up and brushes off the dirt. It mends your bloody wounds, tenderly placing the bandages on for healing. Mercy carries you the rest of the distance, when you are too weak to go on. Mercy gives you hope in the midst of hopelessness. Freedom prevails and triumphs over it all. When the sky looks black and gray and dismal, Mercy is there to show you a better way. Mercy doesn’t wait for you, it chases after you. In your darkest moments. Trembling in a fearful existence, He saw your helpless state. No longer bound by the chains of death and the law, His precious blood spilled forth, paid your ransom. Mercy paved the way to meet your Savior face to face. YOUR comforter, Jesus. YOUR all in all. The curse of sin no longer holds you. You are bought, redeemed and are a child of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Sin promises life, but steals life every chance it gets.
But You, Oh Lord, merciful and kind, scoop up this rebellious heart and call me your own. You led me, on that dusty road, and paved the way. Looking up, I see, the Son shining, paying my ransom on that beautiful cross.
Psalm 85:10 “Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.”
