I’m horrible, HORRIBLE at growing things. I’m scatter brained and either forget to water, pour too much water, give too much light, or not enough, … you get the idea. So I haven’t even attempted a garden.
I’d love to, one day. There’s something so rewarding about growing your own plants, and admiring the fruit of the labor.
Planting a good garden takes:
time
dedication
research
tenderness
preparation
careful watch
There’s no room for rushing ahead, or impatient impulsiveness. I’m so thankful that the gardener of my soul, Jesus, is patient and tender towards me. That He takes the time to prune me, to clear out the rocks and rubble in my soul to allow me to produce good and profitable fruit. The pruning isn’t always delightful, but the end result is a beautiful garden.
The thing about beautiful gardens is they are FULL… full of life, and color, and vibrancy.
And so it is with you and I, sweet sisters. As we submit our will to the Father, and daily allow Him to prune and mold us, we spread good seeds to the lives around us, and we are even more beautiful than ever. We aren’t just a single flower, but an entire GARDEN of beauty, reflecting the Gardener of our soul, Jesus!
John 15:1-3
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”
