I was reminded by my friend Callie of the good old days of blogging. I miss the tight community of women that it once was. I know it won’t always look the same, and people and life circumstances change, but I too miss it as well! So I decided to write a good old fashion update post.
Reading: I just signed out The Great Alone from my local library. Sarah Mae recommended it on Instagram just when I was looking for my first book for Summer. Growing up, I was never a big reader. I was mostly exploring the woods, making tree forts, swimming, and throwing a baseball with my brother. I was a total outdoors/sports loving girl, and still am!
But let me tell you, I do love reading now! Give me all your “can’t put this book down” suggestions in the comments please!
Watching: I just finished the whole series of Lark Rise to Candleford. THANK YOU to my sister and Stacey for recommending it. Honestly, I have never watched a show that has captivated my heart so much. It’s probably the emotion it evokes from the writing, the music, the wonderful characters, and storytelling at its finest. I am waiting for Heartland Season 10 to come out on Netflix next. What’s your current favorite show on television?
Listening to: Mostly christian worship music on Spotify. I do love country music as well.
Eating: Mostly meat, fruits and veggies! Hide all the ice cream and chips, because those two things are my WEAKNESS!
Loving: The warmer weather. I feel so alive when the sun is shining on my face. I’m also loving baseball season watching my son and his team play! It fills my heart with joy.
Creating: Adding little bits of new decor around my home as I have the funds. I’m loving the feeling of downsizing and simplifying. Doing graphics on the side always fills my creativity bug!
Laughing at: I sure do love laughter! Whether it’s a silly show, my husband’s corny jokes, or laughing at my own silly mistakes, life’s too short not to spend laughing!
Feeling: Excited and blessed for Summer break next week! I love spending the whole Summer with my children. They are growing up way too fast!
Praying for: Family and friends with health concerns and some unknowns. God is a good God and is Sovereign. I will choose to trust Him no matter what, especially during the dark valleys of life.
Anticipating: My husband being home more. After the past 2 months of working so much, it is going to be nice to have him around the house more and enjoy the rest of the Summer.
Burdened For: Those young women I know that are at the awkward stage of after graduation, before all grown up stage, who are not walking with the Lord right now. I wish I could gather you all in a room and speak life into you. I’d tell you to stop selling yourself short and living a life of sin, to return to the Lord’s loving arms (He’s waiting for you) and to make wise choices that will bring fruit into your life, instead of death. I would leave judgement out of it, and just really caution you that following what the Bible says will always bring the BEST results.
Inspired By: Authentic Christians that are real and living out their faith! It motivates me to grow closer in my walk with Jesus. Thankful for those that are serving their local communities, families, non-profit ministries, and who are called to the mission field! Keep pressing on for the gospel’s sake!
What about you? I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to lately!

Ahh yes, the good old fashioned blogging days! I miss them tremendously! I’m hoping the tide swings back our way.
I actually just started Lark Rise to Candleford the other day and loved the little bit that I saw. I need to watch more!

I love this post! Thanks for the shoutout, friend, and I love reading an update on YOU! Ah, have you read Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate? That was the most recent book that I didn’t want to put down – it was rather sad, but just really good! I just got The Great Alone from the library too, hoping I can get to it before the library wants it back!

Thanks so much friend! I just finished The Great Alone. I couldn’t put it down. I don’t like language in books, but this book was captivating, and tragically beautiful! I’m going to check out Before We Were Yours! Thanks!
