Is your mouth watering yet? This is so good and healthy for you too! Here’s the recipe:
1 lb ground turkey (I substituted deer meat)
1 28oz can diced or crushed tomatoes
1 can kidney beans
1 can black beans
1/2-1 onion, diced
1 can of green chilies
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp fresh minced garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
2 cups water (I only used 1 cup and it was thicker)
1/2 avocado, sliced (optional)
1 large or 2 medium sweet potatoes
sea salt
freshly ground black pepper
extra virgin olive oil
Chili Instructions:
In a large 2 quart covered pot, brown ground meat, drain and return to pot. Add all remaining ingredients, heat through and serve it up! Top with avocado slices if desired.
Sweet Potato Fries Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Peel sweet potato or leave skin on (according to your preference). Cut the sweet potato in half. Now, take a half of the sweet potato and cut it into large slices about 3/4 inch think. Repeat this for the other half. You’ll then cut the larger slices into fries (about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick).
Mix the fries with some olive oil and ground pepper in a bowl and then lay onto a baking sheet. Space out the fries so they are not touching each other. They’ll get soggy otherwise. Put them in the oven for 15 minutes. Do not open the oven during this time. Then, take them out and flip them. Put them back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes. Both sides should not be dark brown and crispy.
Enjoy!
