My Grandma would always say, “let’s sit down and visit together.” During special holidays we’d all sit around the table and eat, laugh, and just be with one another. Just to be in the presence of people I loved made me warm and cozy inside with love.
How often do I sit and visit at the feet of Jesus? Not as often as I’d like to. I want to sit and visit and linger long in His presence. He desires that I visit with Him. He wants our fellowship to be sweet, and often, and ever growing.
So I will learn, day by day, to visit with Him first. To sit and listen and learn of His ways. May He make me humble, and peaceable and kind because I’ve been visiting with Him often.
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.“

I love this verse and needed this reminder this morning. I have sweet memories of visits with my grandma. She loved to sit and chat too. I could tell her anything and everything, and she would listen and squeeze my hand. I hope you have a beautiful weekend.

Love that image, and miss my own Grandmother. It is key to put Him first in all we do, isn’t it? He is faithful, to guide us as we do. Nice writing, Traci. Have a lovely weekend.

That has to be one of the most beautiful word pictures of visiting with Jesus…coming tired and weary like we all are…and coming to Rest…we are the most ourselves when we are able to rest in the presence of someone…we have to know we are loved and welcomed to really rest…..hope you get many sweet visits this week!

I love that gorgeous word picture and your 5 minute writing exercise. Sitting at the feet of Jesus is the best thing that we can do for ourselves and the ones we love. He longs for us to sit and just “be” with Him. When we are filled with His love and peace, it radiates and feeds those around us. Yes, we need to make time to sit at His feet. Loved this post! Blessings, Traci~
