What’s The Deal?
I love to know why things benefit my system. Here’s why these products help your body detox:
Water: It flushes your system and water is a caloric free beverage. It is the best detox drink and helps to provide daily energy.
Apples: contain great detoxifying benefits because of their alkalinity allows your body to remove the toxins. Apples are one of the best fruits you can eat when you are attempting to lose weight. They are high in soluble fiber which promote a sense of fullness. They also have a high water content, organic compounds and vitamins.
Lemons: Packed with nutrients! They actually contain more potassium than apples or grapes. It helps boost your immune system, helps flush out toxins, freshens your breath, keeps your skin blemish-free. Lemons also contain pectin fiber which helps with weight loss and promoting the feeling of fullness. It helps reduce inflammation by decreasing the acidity in your system which helps prevent disease.
Limes: Helps your skin look and feel younger. Limes are especially beneficial to women’s health. They contain calcium and folate which are important for post-menopausal women and also women of child-bearing age. The peels of citrus fruits in general contain an inhibitor of melanin production. Limes are anti-carcinogenic, and also help prevent the formation of kidney stones. They also may help lower cholesterol.
Grapefruit: Can lower insulin (a fat storage hormone). It’s a good source of protein and contains 90% water so it will fill you up fast.
Tangerine: (Mandarin oranges) are rich in vitamin C, folate and beta-carotene. They taste stronger than an orange, and are less sour and much sweeter. They are full of antioxidants and reduce inflammation in the body.
Strawberries: A natural skin-cleanser and toner, and contain minerals like copper, manganese and magnesium.
Watermelon: Help prevent colon cancer, asthma, diabetes and arthritis with all its rich antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory agents. It is rich in vitamin B which helps promote energy.
Cucumber: Some of its nutritional benefits-vitamin C, A, K iron, calcium, and potassium.
Cinnamon: Helps to increase your insulin performance and lower blood sugar levels. It may be one of the best natural ingredients there is for weight loss. It contains natural thermogenic agents. It revs up your metabolism and burns a ton of calories in the process. This is true of most spices, especially ones containing a little heat.
Mint: It adds a touch of sweetness without sugar and helps settle your stomach and aids in digestion. Full of essential nutrients and promotes digestion.
Rosemary: It is full of vitamins and is part of the mint family. Helps alleviate muscle pain, improve memory, boost the immune and circulatory system, and promote hair growth.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Helps remove toxins from the blood and liver. It stimulates the movement of lymph fluid and aids in digestion. It contains antibiotic properties and can help alleviate tummy troubles. It helps prevent indigestion, boosts energy, and helps with leg cramp troubles.
Green Tea: Anti-cancer properties, increases the burning of fat and calories. it is rich in catechins which helps promote weight loss. Many studies have been done, including one on Chinese subjects, ages ranging from 18-55 years old. The results showed (over a 90-day period) significant reduction in body weight, body fat mass and waist size.

Thank you Traci and Happy New Year! Look forward to trying these. One question though…do you drink just the water or eat the fruit as well?

Excellent list of detoxifying drinks. I have been drinking green tea for several years (at least a cup) a day. Also, drinking at least 64 oz. of water each day will help flush out all those toxins that has such a negative effect on our immune system.
