This is my first time participating in the 31 Days series via the amazinnnnnnnnnnnnng NESTER! I’m in a good place in this season of life to be able to write 31 days in a row (although it still seems like such a daunting task). So bring on the challenge!
I thought long and hard about what my 31 days would be on and came up with 31 Days Of Simple Living. Who doesn’t need to live a little more simple?

We tend to have a way of over-complicating life don’t we? We gain more stuff, and with the gaining we lose sight of the perfect and peaceful gift of a simple life! I sometimes crave what the Amish have after reading a collection of Beverly Lewis’s books!
So, before you and I can pursue the idea of Simple Living, we must refocus and regain the heartbeat of true contentment.
con·tent·ment
kənˈtentmənt/
noun
-
1.a state of happiness and satisfaction.“he found contentment in living a simple life in the country”
Verses to meditate on and memorize:
1 Timothy 6:6-7 “But godliness with contentment is great gain, 7 for we brought nothing into the world, and[a] we cannot take anything out of the world.”
but envy[b] makes the bones rot.”
Ecclesiastes 2:10-11 “And whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I kept my heart from no pleasure, for my heart found pleasure in all my toil, and this was my reward for all my toil. 11 Then I considered all that my hands had done and the toil I had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun.”
Luke 12:15 “And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
And so what I seek is a heart and mindset of contentment. I don’t want to live an envious life that gives me rotten bones! All this stuff on this side of eternity will burn up. It’s all vanity! So Heavenly Father, give me a content heart that is satisfied with YOU alone!

Sounds awesome Traci! I did my 31 Days last year on Simple But Beautiful Things. I’m not doing that this year…more on writing. So I’ll look to you for this. Blessings!
