If you’ve blogged for any length of time, you will face a season of blogger-burnout. The joy and high you once received, the excitement and anticipation will all but fade away.
When Blogging Becomes A Burden
1) When you forget why you started in the first place.
2) When you stop being you.
3) When you blog because you have to, instead of want to.
4) When you stop being inspired.
5) When you seek joy online and no longer offline.
6) When you find yourself in a season of depression.
7) When you are sick of being around people.
8) When you have lost your passion and fervency.
9) When you forget that others have a voice.
10) When you decide writer’s block is a reason for giving up instead of a reason for taking a break.
How To Get Your Blog Groove Back
1) Remember why you started in the first place.
2) Start being you again and smile about it.
3) Blog because you want to.
4) Start looking for ways to be inspired.
5) Seek joy offline first.
6) Seek help if you are feeling depressed.
7) Love people again.
8) Find your passion and fervency.
9) Listen well to other’s voices.
10) Take a short break, but never give up what God has called you to do.

I have been blogging for a couple of years and get phases where I just can’t think of what to post about. Luckily they don’t last long! Although I mostly post pretty random stuff and lots of photographs.
I have so many post ideas right now as I have just started sponsoring with Compassion! x

Thanks for this, Traci! I am taking a bit of a break right now, because my life is so unpredictable- and when I DO have a few moments, I still don’t have enough time to really write. I have only been blogging for 2 years and this is really the first time that I just don’t feel like writing. And I am okay with that!
Love you!!

I’ve been blogging for 2 1/2 years; for the first 1 1/2 years I wrote every day, but I’m down to three or four times a week and starting to hit that place. Uninspired (though prompts help!), tired, and wondering if I need to take a break but feeling guilty if I do. (And, selfishly, wondering if I will lose followers/readers if I don’t write much for a season.) Maybe I just need permission to take a little vacation. This is great…it gave me some things to think about. 🙂 Thank you!

Great post!
I’ve been in a massive slump for about 6 months or so and I just can’t seem to get my groove back ….
Maybe I’ll just sit back and think about what you’ve said 😉
Thanks!

This is GOOD.. a really good post! it’s SO true about how sometimes you just get burnt out. I get in these moods where I write a lot, and then I dont know what to say for days! I think a lot of writers experience this.
Thank you for sharing 🙂
