What makes you excited? What are you passionate about? What gives you that extra bounce in your step? Think about it for a moment. Just ask yourself what you go out of your way to make time to do…
Is it spending time with friends?
Is it reading a good book?
Is it surfing the web?
Finding time to go to the gym?
Going on a date with your spouse?
Going out shopping for that great deal?
Finding new and exciting ways to teach your children?
Watching that favorite television show?
You time?
God’s been reinforcing some things in my mind and heart lately. Refining might be the correct word. He’s continually reminding me that no earthly thing or even person can ever take the place of His role in my life. He wants you and I to run to Him. To come boldly to His throne. (Hebrews 4:16)
We forget sometimes that He thinks we are pretty special. He is longs for our affection and the intimacy which is so lacking. His love for us stretches far beyond what we could even dream of… and yet, most of the time, He’s the last person we run to in good times and in bad.
We run to people for advice, instead of searching in His Holy Word. We run to things to fill voids, when only He can truly satisfy. We run to places to find enjoyment, when only He can give true and lasting joy.
So during this hectic and crazy time of year, let us remember to make time to sit at His feet. That’s what He longs for us to do. Run to sit.
Seems kind of crazy to think of running to just sit. We are doers, us women aren’t we? We love to do do do do … it makes us feel important and really it’s just part of our nature. But go against your nature and make time to sit at His feet today. And tomorrow. And the next day…
For in making time to run to Him, we gain all the things we are searching for and striving after:
Joy.
Peace.
Contentment.
Purpose.
Fulfillment.
Love.
Security.
Fruit.
Will you run to sit today?
Thanks for visiting!

I just started following “Ordinary Inspirations” and i am so glad you are posting! thank you for sharing your life as the Lord works in you.
This post was particularly encouraging as it reinforced some of the truths the Lord has been speaking to my own heart in the past few weeks. I think in this busy Holiday season it is so important to “run to sit” Thanks again!

Love this Traci! Yes, I go to friends instead of talking to God…and I eat instead of filling up on Him. What do I make time for? Hmmmm…gotta think about this and make sure I put my wonderful Father first!!

Lovely, as always Traci! This week my goal has been to spend less time focusing on the unimportant things and more time on things like reading to my girls or just sitting and talking with my husband. I have really enjoyed the “Jesus Calling” devotional. It helps me “run to sit” in so many ways:)
