Yes, I know… sad right? My husband taught me how to make a bed. You know, the folded corners, “proper way”. All my life I just assumed tucking sheets in any old scatterbrained way was just fine.
Being a Susie Homemakmer doesn’t come natural to me. Growing up you could find me climbing trees, throwing a baseball with my brother, and wading through murky creek beds.
I struggle with keeping my home clean and organized. I’ve tried Fly Lady in the past, I’ve developed my own charts to stay focused, but nothing seems to stick.
Do you have any suggestions? I’m looking for very simple, practical ideas. How do you keep up to date with cleaning and staying clutter free? Do tell….
Thanks for visiting!

I don’t :0) I guess invite people over often – that’s when I somehow manage to get things done :0)

HI traci!
My advice would be to set a timer and spend 10 minutes cleaning or working on a project in each room. You have to move fast and you don’t spend a lot of time everyday on cleaning :*)

Ahh this sounds so much like me… My tips? Right now I have none since I am in the same boat as you, but I do use Pinterest to help me get motivated and to give me ideas. That has helped me some.

I struggle with this too! I like Meagans advice! I might try that!

Just get rid of the stuff. Then you won’t have to worry about cleaning it. That’s what Josh starts to do when it gets to messy:) hehe

I hear ya! I’m pretty much domestically challenged… And truth be told, I don’t know the “proper” way to make a bed, either!
I’ve gone through every organization method under the sun, and the only thing that really helps me is to just dive in to the work that I can see in front of me.
If I start by picking up the living room, then I can see the next, slightly-more-subtle mess after that one.
When I really have to crack down and get things done, I go ahead and make a to-do list, but it’s got to be a simple pen-and-paper list. If I get to fancy with it, I’ll just dismiss it as effort and time that I could’ve used elsewhere. But probably not cleaning… 😉

Oh la la I have a wonderful book that I’ve glanced over and can see the wisdom..”The House That Cleans Itself” by Mindy Starns Clark! Organization and related stuff can be soooooo trying sometimes right. Mindy S. Clark started being challenged and worked on it till she came up with the method in her book! Hope you take a peak! 🙂

I used to pick a room and finish it before I started another. At least that way you see progress. If you skip from one thing to another in different rooms, you feel like you can’t see what you have accomplished at the end of the day. (:>)
