I asked him to call me fat. Yeah, I know. The hubby rolled his eyes too. He told me of course he wouldn’t and I told him I knew he was too smart to humor me with this request. Instead, he pulled me close, kissed my head, and told me I was beautiful.
I didn’t want him to call me fat. I just wanted to get mad enough to make some changes in my life again. I’m a fighter and if someone I love can speak some good ol’ fashion truth in love, I’ll fight and fight and prove to them I can. I’m determined like that. But I’m also a slacker. I tend to be lazy. I’d rather sit on a sofa with my laptop and coffee than get up and move my behind.
A life of discipline takes work. sweat. tears. But the alternative? I don’t want that. So I will get up and exercise until he tells me I’m beautiful and I believe it.
Thanks for visiting!

I can’t help but chuckle to myself b/c I have had this same conversation w/my husband quite recently…went to the gym for the first time this year yesterday… (my goal was January 1st). Our hubs are so sweet, but I’m like you…I want to be able to believe it!
Oh, and you are beautiful, Traci! xo

Aw! I tried to convince my hubby to do that, but he told me that even though I asked him to do it he wouldn’t because that would be forever etched in my memory as him having said it! So sweet, the guys are!
I’m with you though, I need the motivation! Thanks for the post!

I love the last line…
“So I will get up and exercise until he tells me I’m beautiful and I believe it.”
That’s the kicker. My husband can call me beautiful 30x a day, but it takes me believing him!
You can do it!!! I believe in you!!

I’m in the same boat Traci! My hubby is just as sweet as yours…except that he’s told me the only reason he cares if I lose weight or not is because he wants me healthy and around for a long time! Good luck with the exercise!

You can do it! I need that motivation too! I MUCH rather sit and relax and eat chips and dip and pop than exercise and eat healthy.

You’re totally beautiful! You just had a 3rd baby not too long ago, so just take your time! 🙂
A friend of mine got me hooked on http://www.myfitnesspal.com you can make an account there and keep record of your calorie intake (food diary) and exercise. It’s free and my hubby and I have been doing this together for 16 days now. He’s lost 7 pounds so far. I’ve only lost 2, but I’m liking how exercising is helping me get in shape! 🙂 It is a big help to us and I like to share it with others!
If you do join, I’m emily3314. 🙂
Blessings!

I understand, Traci – I went running yesterday. I want to be able to fully believe it when my husband says I am beautiful.
Many blessings!

I’ve so been there. I had a goal to start a new “diet” January 1st and am struggling to find my groove. Haven’t even though about exercising yet. My husband wouldn’t do me the honor of calling me fat either. I just love him.
