I love the brilliancy of color… beauty can be found in a row of freshly-sharpened pencils! Are you paying attention? Winner from last week:
Sarah @ Naptime MomTog
We went to visit my sweet grandfather yesterday. He lives in a home, where people don’t know their name, and confused-ones wander in hallway, pushing themselves with feet dangling below wheelchairs.
He left my sweet grandmother some years ago. He didn’t leave her by way of love, but trapped in his own body by the this awful disease.
A man, that once lit up the room with vibrant exuberance, now sits and stares. All day. Pure sadness.
I captured my sister with him and it expresses the essence of JOY.
What did you capture this week? I can’t wait to see!
Thanks for visiting!

That must be so hard..I had a grandmother who slowly started forgetting who we all were…it’s heartbreaking and I will be praying for you!

Your sister does look very happy. It is a masterful photograph. It creates a strong emotion which, I suppose, differs according to the person viewing the picture. I am very sad for your grandfather and grandmother. Also, the specter of Alzheimer’s is more fearful to me than the specter of death.

Thank you for taking this picture Traci! I love your post, so well written. Grandpa has given us so many memories, most of how godly he is. I am so thankful for the legacy that he and Grandma have given us!

Thank you for stopping by, Traci. This is a poignant post and photo. The joy we can give even when we think the one we are with cannot receive it. He really does.
Hopefully, I can join you when I get back to blogging sometime next year.
Blessings,
Janis
