Last week was our first week of Inner and Outer Beauty @ Ordinary Inspirations. Want a button? Grab the code at the bottom of my sidebar!
Come back every Friday for a new way to make you inner and outer beauty SHINE!
Rebekah took the simple challenge of painting her nails. She also went so far as to get her hair done. She looks marvelous doesn’t she?!
Here’s what Rebekah had to say about the first challenge:
Thinking about your post from last Friday, how difficult really is it for us to paint our nails or do a little something extra that we know our husband will appreciate?
One of my husband’s favorite “beauty” things for me to do is have painted finger nails – and even though he never says anything when I don’t do it (which is too often) I know that it makes him a little extra happy whenever I do (I’m attempting to increase the frequency! lol) And, here’s a shocker, it makes me feel better too! Imagine that! Just a simple act of painting your finger nails can make you feel beautiful.
I mentioned in the comments section on Friday that I struggle too with feeling beautiful. I do believe that half of actually being beautiful for our husbands has to do with feeling beautiful. So often, my husband tells me I am, only to have me retort back, “Am not!” – sounds funny, but, for me anyways, it is the truth. Thank you again for challenging all of us with this!
Zip up your mouth. A GOSSIP is very unbecoming. She is also known to be crude and cruel. Have your conversation honest among men and God! You will make yourself more beautiful for it! Seek to be a peace maker (Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”)

Having a happy (contented) heart and outlook makes us truly beautiful! Read about how our husbands don’t need a skinny wife over here.

This is an awesome challenge — I have a feeling it’s going to be a lot harder than it sounds! How often do we catch ourselves divlging info that is either useless or unbecoming. (even seemingly “little” things) I want to be known by others as someone who lifts their spirits and is true from the inside out! Thanks, Traci!

I am glad I stopped by today. What a great way to focus on our inner and outer beauty. A lady I went to church with as a child popped into my mind when I read your outer beauty tip.

I love this. It reminds me of a quote I recently read by Abigail Adams. She said her father “never inculcated any Maxim of Behaviour upon his Children, so often as this – never speak ill of any Body. To say all the handsome Things she could of Persons but no Evil.” Ever since I read that I’ve pondered it, and realized how very short of this I fall. I want to try harder!

Oh I love this challenge!!! Awesome! Finding time to paint our nails is hard and the worse is when I find time to paint them and 3 days later they are chipped and I can’t find time to fix them up again! ARGH! Life is so busy – but these small things do bless our hearts sometimes 🙂
Amen to the gossip part! It’s NOT pretty on the prettiest girl in town!!
I am always uplifted here Traci – thank you!!!
Happy Easter!

I love the idea of this challenge. I know I neglect myself regularly in the way of pretty things. I don’t even know the last time I painted my nails. Love that you also focus on inner beauty as that beauty will shine from the inside out! 🙂
