Adoption. Orphans. Where do I begin? The Lord has been doing big things in my heart. Things I don’t understand. Things that are, truth be told, scary! But so exciting at the same time!
I tend to be a little slow sometimes, and the Lord is so good to send me reminder after reminder.
Here’s a little picture of the journey my heart-path has taken recently.
I’ve met Lauren, Tricia, and Lara via blogging. They are all in the process of adopting. Lauren has a site called Poppie Lane and all proceeds go toward bringing her little Tucker home! Giveaway this Wednesday! Next month I will be doing a FUN GIVEAWAY to help out Lara! Be sure to check out Tricia’s book, She’s Not Your Real Mommy.
I have dear friends, Brian and Sue who have adopted a little girl from China, and have been in the process for 4 years to get their daughter Olivia, from Guatemala.
I’m reading the book, Choosing To See, but Mary Beth Chapman. (Book Giveaway coming soon)!
I see so much regarding Compassion International. Especially on Ann’s blog lately.
Then there is Lysa TerKeurst and her inspiring adoption story featured on Oprah!
My heart was drawn to these kids in the Dominican Republic last year.
My husband and I decided to go down the path of supporting orphans through a ministry in our church, called Faith Ministries International.
Tonight we received our packet of information from Faith Ministries International. We will experience the blessing of sponsoring this little girl:
Rose Michelle
My heart immediately melted into a heaping pile of mush upon seeing her sweet little face! Both of her parents died when she was 3 years old. She is now 7 and lives in an orphanage in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
So, all of this being said… I don’t know what God is doing, except for, giving me a passion for orphans and missions in general.
James 1:27 says, “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
What are you doing to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction? Do you sponsor a child? Have you considered adoption? I’d love to hear what God is doing in YOUR HEART!
Thanks for visiting!

My heart is and forever will be passionate about adoption! I worked in the field of adoption and hope to do so again one day again when I am done raising my children. We have 4 biological and 2 adopted children. My nest is full but my heart is not. We sponsor a child named Zuere from Mozambique. I also enjoy giving to help others with their adoptions. Thanks for sharing Traci!

I just sent my sponsorship payment for this month to International Childrens Care. We sponsor a child in Colombia named Nathalia and she is 9 years old.
I want my own daughter to grow up knowing that we care about other girls in the world who do not have as much as we are blessed with.
It is good for her.
My husband and I have been to Colombia twice on a Mission trip and that is why we chose that country.
Our money is helping her get a better education.
I am excited to get updates and see what God is doing in her life.
Blessings!

I love it! You are the second person to mention that book, I’ve got to get a copy! Jesus loves the fatherless, and isn’t it wonderful to see him turning our hearts toward them as well???

We have 2 children that we sponsor through World Vision.
I would love to adopt someday, but I don’t know if that is the path the Lord wants me to go down.

Rose Michelle is GORGEOUS!!! I want her. No, I really do! lol She is so beautiful!
I sponsor a little girl who DOES have parents, but you bet we are going to start with your organization to sponsor orphans. Well, maybe- we may just have to adopt them instead! lol
