e I love it! I can’t get enough of it! Marriage! But not just any old marriage… A Godly, thriving Marriage!
It takes work… not everyone tells you that. But it is so worth the work, to cultivate something beautiful; something so beautiful that it gives God glory! After all, He is the Creator of such an awesome gift!
Ann Voskamp is one of my very favorite “blog authors” by far! She says:
It’s the disconnected souls who poorly communicate.“
I love the way she writes. I love her heart for my Savior, Jesus Christ! Most of all, I love the way she adores her husband! Her blog is A Holy Experience, but she writes over at (In)Courage. That’s where she writes about marriage today.
(She warns: Only if you are ready for some Song of Solomon!) These words are for you women that are married, looking to fall in love and stay in love, each day with your soul mate, you best friend!
It only takes four minutes a day to move into a deeper heart place. It only takes four minutes a day to connect in soul intimacy; to breathe in oxygen for the other half of my heart. Don’t and I too begin to suffocate, the death heave. I wish someone had told me in the beginning.
Four Fixations
Four times a day think on love. When I leave the marriage bed, leave the front door, when I return to front door, return to marriage bed. These are the four critical archways of time in our day. Touch or whisper a sweet nothing when passing through these gate points, and we walk into hours of closeness. Forever love fixates like fresh love.
Four Embraces
Four times a day, wrap up in husband. Embrace fully and hold each other’s eyes. That’s all. Repeat four times daily. The one flesh breathes best when the skin pores are close; connected.
Four Affirmations
Four times during the day, thank him. For working faithfully to provide, for hanging up his towel, for putting gas in the van, for making this heart skip a wild beat. Look for the ways to thank him and watch how moves closer.

Great post, Traci. I already love my husband so much my heart feels like it will burst, but I’ll follow these steps and see if it’s possible to love him even more…

Oh, I love this! I will definitely check out her blog.
I have been married a little more than 19 years to the most amazing man on earth. I LOVE this man SO much it makes my heart ache sometimes. We have been through so much together. He is sacrificing SO much for me right now because of my illness. It would be so easy for him to just walk away from it all because things are so very hard right now. But he doesn’t. He stays. He treats me like a Queen. Every. Single. Day. He gives so much of himself for me. He gives up so much that he could be doing, that he should be doing. He is my Knight in Shining Amour. He truly is.
And do you know what? *I* almost gave HIM up 12 years ago. Because I was selfish. Because I thought I wanted something else. Because I thought I had found something better. I almost lost him. I almost lost everything that was important to me. But he never gave up on me. Oh, my Lord! Thank you so very much for not letting that happen! Thank you for opening my eyes and for saving my marriage. I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for my Lord and my amazing husband. He LOVES me. He IS my soul mate. He IS the other half of my heart. I WOULD suffocate without him.
If you are reading this and your marriage is in trouble, if you’re not sure you’re ‘in love’ with your husband any longer, seek help! Seek Godly counsel. Do not be afraid to ask for it. Your marriage, your husband, ARE worth fighting for. God will honor your fight to keep them. God will bless you in ways you can NOT begin to imagine. God hates divorces. It says so in the Bible. (Malachi 2:16) Don’t give up without a fight. I didn’t and now I can not imagine my life without the man I was ready to let go 12 years ago. The man I believed I no longer loved anymore.
Again I cry, Dear Lord in Heaven, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Hi Traci.
Thanks for your comment on “A Spacious Place”, and the invitation to read your blog. I actually found you earlier today through 5:16 Gals. Ann Voskamp is also one of my favorite blog authors. Thanks to her I now consider myself a “Soul Sculptor”. Looking forward to reading more of your blog!

I LOVE her writing also..so powerful. I wish I could write that succinctly. I do tend to go on and on and on!! Ha!
This really touched me as well- and something I am going to move forward in doing. Have been getting a lot of little signs that I need to move forward whole-heartedly with pursuing my hubby; even if he is not in quite the same place spiritually. I love him dearly and deeply, but I think I expect too much of him sometimes.
Love you! AND, can you re-do my blog?!?! 🙂

I am back!! I have something for you over on my blog! Check it out!!

Great post Traci! Mimi told me that you had asked about our Five Moms and a Blog header. My sister is a graphic designer and she put it all together for us. We were so happy of how it turned out. She did a great job. I believe she used istockphoto.com. She then tweaked them so that they looked a little more like us. You should have seen the emails going around between all of us. Those moms are so funny. There’s never a dull moment with them.
I look forward to seeing your graphics. Have a great Sunday!
